Winter Quarter Meeting
On Monday, WiPA members gathered for our quarterly meeting. We took a break from our work to relax and catch up. Professor Ruth Murray-Clay joined us for a great conversation about how to constructively handle difficult situations that can arise in academia. She offered insight into her own personal experiences throughout her career, from an undergraduate major in physics to a faculty member. We discussed helpful tips to handle various challenging situations including: sexism in the workplace, how to approach a co-worker about a particular issue, mental health, being confident in the academic setting, and balancing professional and personal life, just to name a few! Thanks for joining us, Ruth!
Coming up later in the quarter is our Mad Scientist dinner! Stay tuned for more events and be sure to RSVP to the dinner if you're interested.
